First thing to check is the water meter. Determine if your meter is working by running water to your house and check if meter is reading water usage. You may also want to empty any water that may be in meter box to confirm there is not a leak. Plumbing in front of meter going towards your house is homeowners responsibility. The meter and plumbing before is responsibility of the city or county you may live in. Check your water bill to contact. After checking meter check in and around home for any signs of visible water leaks. Usually a bad flapper or ballcock inside of a toilet tank can cause high water bill due to constant running of water.
First thing you will need to determine is what type of water heater you have? Electric tank type water heaters usually have heating elements that could go bad after time. Check warranty by calling manufacture to determine if parts or replacement is still under warranty. Most units come with a standard six year warranty. Next thing to check is behind panels where temperature settings are. We would need to make sure power to unit is off before removing panels. Call us at 713-797-2076 if you have any questions. Most units come set to a standard of 110-120 degrees. Please note anything passed 120 degrees is considered scalding.
